Mainly used in Handlock decks that like to Life Tap a lot, bringing your life total low enough to play them. When playing against a Handlock, it is often better not to bring him low before you can deal with a Molten Giant+Sunfury Protector combination. In some rare cases it might even be beneficial to heal your opponent with Lesser Heal or Earthen Ring Farseer. Note that playing Lord Jaraxxus turns your life total to 15, making the giants very hard to play since you need to be at 5 health or lower.
An unreliable but strong play is to go face with Holy Wrath on the chance it will draw Molten Giant, since it will deal 20 damage regardless of the casters current health.
Strong heals are also a good combination, as playing the giants before healing up negates the downside of having to be low on health to use them.
