By default, ⃢₇₧ Shift will make the player descend and space will make the player rise. The basic w, a, s, d buttons are used to move. Double-tapping space again will initiate gravity once more. Alternatively, the player can just fly downwards₠until they touch the ground.
Pocket Edition
In Pocket Edition, tap the jump button (o) twice to enter fly mode. Use ^ to go forward, to go left, > for right, and v for backwards. Press jump and ^ to fly upwards, and jump and v to go downwards. To exit flying mode, double-press jump again.
Playstation 3 Edition
In Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition, players must press twice in order to start flying. Holding down will make one fly up. In order to descend, one can either double-tap again or hold down R3 (push the right stick). Using the left stick will move the user horizontally, however, pushing it forwards twice quickly will let one "sprint-fly". While "sprint-flying" simultaneously,₠the movement plane will change₠in such a way that it will cause₠forward movement to go directly towards the cross hairs instead of₠towards them and at the same altitude as ordinary movement would cause.₠The host of a game can enable flying in survival mode by using₠host privileges. However, if one uses host privileges, then it will disable the ability to obtain trophies (achievements) and add progress to the leader-boards.
Xbox 360 Edition
In the Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, players can fly by double tapping the A button. Holding down A will make one fly upward. Holding down the right analog stick will lower the user. Alternatively, one could press up and down on the D-pad to slowly move up and down, respectively. If players push the left analog stick forwards twice, then they will be able to "sprint-fly".
